If you just need a computer at all, I have an old laptop with a broken battery- it works fine as a desktop, but it doesn't hold a charge anymore, so you can't unplug it or it turns off.

the main issue with it is that it has keys that stick, but that could be fixed? it's a not too much older HP (six years old iirc)

it's still a pretty good computer. a little slower now but i think once all my shit is cleaned out it might be fine.

there are some compact gaming ones that HP has made. i think i've seen a couple at walmart. but they do tend to be a lot bigger for hardware.
