However, Merlin (the old human from the past in a mechanical body) tells Emperor Cayleb to not intervene and warn part of his advanced force that a massive army is bearing down on them and face imminent destruction in order to not let the enemy know they "know"

In order to defend this decision to hide their precognition, he uses the example of Winston Churchill, having broken the Nazi code and being aware of an imminent massive bombing raid on the city

-and "deciding to not warn the populace so the Nazis don't find out their code is broken"

Is this true? Did Churchill decide to not have Coventry warned to cover the fact the Nazi code had been broken?

Apparently they knew a major raid would happen, but not where it would take place

When it comes to the actual alternate history, this series falls on it's face often enough. Its... Wierd. As an alternate history book i think you need to nail your alternate history

this was really good, however

and this, was absolutely perfect. Tying in foreign confusion over the Charisians superior technology and their supposed heresy to the point of hosting demons, is amazing

This book has drastic highs and somewhat lows, but when it strikes impressive it does it with a bang
