Well, i will say. Yogen is immediately an improvement on the death game.

Just in the sense that people die in a much less ritualistic way at a much slower rate

His day to day life before the death game.... trickier to say. Shin's definitely been improving here, making friends, getting healthier, finding purposes.... and didn't have much attachments in his old life.
Still, his parents, and Kanna....
And also the fact there IS more murder here, job on the rough side of town aside

he's been able to relax here but... there's always that lurking in the background

One thing he has been thinking about is that Asunaro's reach doesn't extend into the afterlife (not counting you ranger, you're fine)

there's not this....... machine, watching him, warping him, toying with him, with midori as it's gleeful face and hands

it's a tiny little bit of spite, that he got away in the end. they don't get this part of him

that said he's def suspicious of yogen and the school itself, as an institute, he's primed to compare the two.

he does want to escape and help people to escape, but if he used his wish to go home it would be... entirely so he could help the people still stuck in the death game I think

and he'd be extremely torn, because he has made genuine bonds here that he cares fiercely about

it's an interesting thing that as shin makes more friends, he's having to learn a crash course in people's needs and wants sometimes conflicting

stressful for someone who gets strongly attached to people but usually only one or two at a time up til now!

so yeah it's fun bc he's suspicious of luka a little but he also can't deny her motivation.... makes sense (even if there's that drawing straws to it rip)
