The way the AI handles spying in Master of Orion is so aggravating

Sometimes, a space empire will send spies into your space to steal your research or cause diplomatic scandals or shit like that

And that's fine

We're big grownup space empires and we do that sometimes

If you CATCH a spy

And have the AUDACITY to call up the corresponding ambassador and say "hey"

"Cut that shit out"

100% of the time, in my experience, they respond "Not only do we absolutely refuse to stop spying on you, but we're going to ignore all your calls for the next 20 years"

"Because we're so mad that you DARED to call us out for spying on you"
