A stupid issue I have with food delivery problems
xyzzy
is that when something goes wrong
xyzzy
all the website can/will do is give me a refund
xyzzy
and I'm like NO
xyzzy
I don't want a REFUND
xyzzy
I want to know where the FOOD is
xyzzy
I want the TRUTH, doordash
xyzzy
I want JUSTICE
Rama
Doordash has no control whatsoever over its drivers
xyzzy
yes I know this
xyzzy
this is why I said stupid
xyzzy
I am not looking for answers I am hungry and venting
Rama
The entire gig economy is a house of cards

i'm at the point with doordash where they like. reorder the food without charging me when i get allergen problems. because i have caused fits at them before.
Rama
So really the stupidity is on them
xyzzy
I want a message explaining the driver's entire evening
xyzzy
and what he did instead of delivering my fucking food
xyzzy
are there just no consequences for not doing your job as a food driver
xyzzy
I'm not gonna say I expect any real standard of quality, but
xyzzy
I expect... for the food... to arrive
xyzzy
eventually
xyzzy
if your job is to get food from A to B, and the food never reaches B
xyzzy
then you did not do it
Niamh Vibes
food places seem to really have it out for you
xyzzy
there's something infuriating about, like, the confidence of the automated messages
xyzzy
phone like "your order has been placed outside your door as requested. enjoy!"
xyzzy
nothing
xyzzy
"how did you like your delivery experience?" I don't know, doordash
xyzzy
I haven't had one
xyzzy
when I reported it the system was like
xyzzy
"Are you sure you looked in the right place? Your driver left these notes:"
xyzzy
there were no notes
Rama
I'm not being hyperbolic when I say that the whole point of Doordash is to provide and charge for a service where no one technically has to perform any labor
Rama
They're supposed to, but it's automated and decentralized to the point where it's just. The honor system.
