What does the referral do? It’s mostly just me being curious

If you listed someone as a referral it gives them a referral prize. It's sorta a reclaim or other gift.

To quote some of our rules on it: Prizes are: An (1) AC Pass good for one character for one month, One (1) reclaimed item from your own canon, or two (2) mundane, non-canon specific items (E.G. Pizza dough and blue milk is fine. A lightsaber and Tesseract is not).

There are expanded rules if they become relevant.
