Living in the same apt for a long time kinda sucks because everything starts to go wrong at the same time. This happened in the last place that we were in for 9 years. We've been here for 7 and the grout has lifted up from the sink and from around the tub. Then the carpet started pulling up. Then one of the light fixtures broke. Now one of the outlets went.

Just cuz everything is designed to be replaced every 3 years after tenant turnover. But instead I have to put in a bunch of maintenance requests.

Siigh.

Maybe someday I'll be able to afford to buy a place but it's real doubtful. Unless I move at least an hour away. Which I may have to if rents keep going up...

And the carpet they won't even fix cuz they say its 'cosmetic'

when you buy a place then you just have to deal with all those problems yourself. which may or may not be better

yeah but if I did them myself at least they'd get fixed. And not shittily.

and I wouldn't have put in carpet with no padding to begin with so it wouldn't have puckered like this...

also its felted in high traffic areas which I've never seen before. like this is the shittiest carpet in existence.

and i gave 2 different kinda of linoleum with a weird seam in the hallway cuz they ran out of one of them.

I've been in my place for five years and a lot of the apartments around me have had whole new floors put in. mine is in really rough shape
