see if when you do a driver update, if the installer gives you an option to do a "clean installation"

what this does is instead of just installing what changed, it reinstalls the whole package

b/c sometimes even the update packages aren't quite right so just. wiping it and updating from scratch works better

messing around with your graphics drivers can sometimes fuck with the windows GUI; restarting SHOULD fix it
