I would kill a man to be able to unpack my bedroom
boodle boy
That particular combo of ADHD with OCD tendencies means whenever I sit down to work
boodle boy
All I can think about it my ocean of unpacked boxes and how NOTHING is put away
boodle boy
But also, I CANT unpack or put anything away for various reasons and its hell
boodle boy
The worst thing is that because of the slope in the floor (old house) my bookshelves are really leaning and i cant safely put anything on them....books would normally be a first east thing to unpack that would make me feel more “settled”
boodle boy
I need to find a solution to level the shelves, but it’s tricky because they;re quite heavy
boodle boy
I also dont have a very good clothes storage situation rn so my clothing is packed still, which is making it a little tricky as the season is starting to change and i need some warmer clothes
boodle boy
It’s like a twenty minute project every time i need to find a pencil. I MOSTLY remember where I packed things...i did it with a pretty organized system, EXCEPT....i used a lot of boxes that look identical on the outside
boodle boy
I think i naively imagined I would unpack fairly quickly and that wouldn’t be a problem...

THE PEACE OF MIND BEING EVEN A TINY BIT UNACKED WOULD BRING ME

The one thing i like is i have a nice
boodle boy
plant window set up for myself
boodle boy
With some of my new acquisitions, and a oldie in need of some TLC.
boodle boy
it’s nice having some set up in my room so i can really enjoy them while i work
boodle boy
they wont be so clustered forever, i just want to make sure they’re all getting high light/high humidity while they are settling from shipping
boodle boy
there is some very cool, beautiful and interesting foliage in this crowd, and I’m really looking forward to watching them grow and develop

the only suggestion i have for the bookshelves is wedging cardboard under one side
vspa m jponica
it won't last forever but it should last awhile
four eels
hit up lowes or home depot, look for wood "shims"
four eels
a few of those tucked under the bookcase and a 3 inch screw through it and into a stud (not the plaster, an actual stud) will set you right
four eels
I had to do that with the shelves in my library bc the floor isn't quite even
four eels
between the shims and the screw into the stud they might as well be built ins

we actually have a bunch of extra shims from another project so I'll give that a try!

it would be so satisfying to put at least SOME books on shelves
