I just assumed one of their engineers accidentally forgot to disconnect their conscience when they went into work, which forced them to delete their corporate BGP entries in an effort to cleanse the world of their evil.
The sad part about it is that there are a lot of people who rely on it for their jobs (such as authors and artists) and it being down for so long can affect their income.
The really sad part is that nobody should ever rely on social media for their jobs. There are many online resources available without having to count on any one company or service.

: The problem is, like Wal-Mart, the giants have annihilated the competition and left “little guys” with no realistic options. Few small businesses can really afford to have a quality Web site, eCommerce solution, etc.—those things cost money. Facebook and Twitter offer middling to terrible solutions, but have global reach, so you’re stuck.
Because the giants have learned how to turn users into addicts, and tap into human desires for recognition and high emotional states, end users have huge disincentives from straying from their “suppliers” as well.
