but he is incredibly organized and retains basically everything he hears and knows his people really well

I feel like generally speaking in fiction 'character can notice and figure things out and react to things extremely quickly' is like, a go-to way of demonstrating that a character is really smart

which makes sense cuz it's a really good tool in tense and unpredictable situations, it's just cool also to have a character who processes things at a slower pace but is still definitively and deservedly treated as like, really mentally formidable

LIKE EVEN IN-SERIES BREAK IS LIKE 'welp I expected Oz to notice I'm blind now because he's exceedingly fuckin sharp but I didn't think Reim would also catch me'
