I had the vague idea of a dire circumstance where Nita actually sees Azmuth use his magic for the first time. Like Azmuth doesn't use it for little things. He saves it for when the big guns need to be pulled out. I figure Galvans would use science hand-in-hand with magic, so given Azmuth's understanding of the fundamental forces of the universe, he'd be in a

rare group that would be able to simplify massive spells in the Speech to only a few key words for manipulating reality

Of course, doing so does come with consequences: It wipes him right out
