There are also a lot of fantasy societies that might have entirely different methods. Hell, even with earth characters time period will drastically change the therapy. I don't think you have to be an actual psych to play a character that is one, the character doesn't have to be correct

I once back in my days at Route 29 pondered what it would be like to play Doctor Frasier Crane there.

And this was one of the less messed-up worlds.

My only character that fits is still a teen... but she is studying bc her mom is very mentally ill and she wants to understand/help other people

I feel like it would run a really big risk of burning the player out under the sheer weight of how many characters need therapy

Having played a character who was really driven to help and be in everyone’s business, yeah, it’s exhausting

I feel like the only times I've seen characters be therapists in game, it's been like

Harleen Quinzel. Jonathan Crane. Hannibal Lector.

I have one character who actually is a licensed therapist and diplomat.

She looks at DWRP and just walks the other way, flipping a double deuce the whole while.

the one I was thinking of specializes in violent childhood trauma which is like 75% of DWRP lol

I'd be terrified of getting something wrong lmao. Not that we should be taking our rl cues from rp, but sometimes people just... people.
