they're consulting infectious diseases to try to make sure this doesn't happen again, and they are sure i caught it originally from my sister rather than me giving it to her, so that guilt of "did i give her something that helped kill her" is lifted off my head

well, because C-diff thrives in hospitals (unfortunately. which is why they're freaking out about precautions) and most people with cancer end up with messed up immune systems. c-diff is opportunistic. it rarely hits people who aren't already ill with something else

a bit annoyed because the doctors all day were like "we're gonna give you pain meds" and then not putting them in and now they tell me "no we're not going to give you pain meds" and kinda got mad at me for asking, but they were the ones who mentioned it in the first place?
