i wrote a letter to my various workers about what's been going on and w e l p.

I'm also being told I'll need to work in the afternoon on the front desk 'at least once a week'

not at all. even without any other circumstances, there's really no reason you should just be having a bunch of other duties that you didn't agree to bring dumped on you - to me "other duties as needed" is a stock phrase for "we can't list every possible thing that might be needed through the course of the job"

or even being more generous, that you might be to help spot other employees/departments. but definitely not just dropping shit on you randomly. you don't need a reason to be upset, and the fact that you do and they're just blowing off your limitations - which you've been clear about - just makes it so much worse.

I just... wanna work on the library and in collections...

there's so much to do! I was enjoying the work so much!

now I'm terrified to go in
