I mounted my monitor and now my laptop can't detect it 🙃

it detects the "new" monitor i just hooked up, but not the one I've been using for almost 3 years now

and when i disconnected the "new" (used one my roommate was getting rid of) one, it still couldn't find my old one

graphics cards are up to date, tried reenablung them, restarted the device, have unplugged and replugged multiple times now

even tried switching out the cable just in case

I've tried using the HDMI cable I've been using, a different HDMI cable, and the mini dp to HDMI cable that works on the other screen

apparently the plate pushes the ports in or something idk, there like recessed in there so it can't reach

it's the way the back is set up. where you mount the stand sticks out, but then the mounting plate to hang it goes over that so it's just awkward

i played around with the back and i think it's secure enough even though it's not in all the way
