About the final boss

so, I'm pretty sure it's confirmed that the final boss of 6.0 won't be a returning FF staple

if not confirmed then at least likely with the design attitude

here's what I think

there's a recurring flow in a lot of final fantasy, especially the older games

where you have a conflict between light and darkness

but it's not the true endgame

there are three elements

light, dark, and void

cruelty isn't the ultimate antagonistic force in final fantasy

nihilism is

and we have our three forces already

in the light corner: the Warror of Light and Hydaelyn

in the dark corner: the Ascians and Zodiark

and in the void corner: the thing that killed Amaurot

people have obviously predicted that as being the endboss but

this is my theory about its nature

it's a force of the Void, a force of nihilism and death manifest

that's an extremely strong prediction, yeah

something that doesn't want to destroy you

because it doesn't care about you

it's the inevitability of death, not an evil person

fwiw, being original to XIV is what they’ve said for raids and such, not the final boss, which I don’t think they’ve discussed. In fact we know the leveling Trials bosses are DEFINITELY pre established FF things.

That said: that’s a rad thought and I approve
