I haven't been able to find a nondairy creamer I really like. And sometimes late onset lactose intolerance is temporary and I hadn't had huge problems with dairy lately, so I bought real half-and-half
moontyger
mistake. huge mistake
moontyger
for some reason, half-and-half in particular often gives me issues
moontyger
I repent of my folly! (though it doesn't solve my creamer problem)

ooh no :-(
moontyger
yeah... I feel really stupid
moontyger
I just wish there were another creamer I liked :-(

optimism
Ainsley ☄
optimisim that this time it'll behave
moontyger
yeah. I really thought it might just be ok
Ainsley ☄
sometimes milk gives me issues and sometimes it doesn't
moontyger
it's been like that for me, too, I guess. half-and-half seems always really bad, but I have no idea why that would be.
Ainsley ☄
it might be the cream
Ainsley ☄
but I don't really use half and half
moontyger
I just... oatmilk has this very distinctive taste that I'm not crazy about. coconut milk can be ok, but I've had problems with it separating and then somehow not tasting the same
moontyger
I use soy milk for everyday milk substitution, but I don't really like it in coffee
moontyger
butter chicken has both cream and butter and that's usually at least mostly ok? but I guess an individual portion may not have much cream in it

have you tried nut pods creamers? i've used their hazelnut one and i really like it.
 HEROphelia 
i know they have other flavours and just a standard one, too
Rizzaria 🔥
^ also here to recommend nut pods!

But also dang, I’m sorry that dairy is messing you up so badly :-(
moontyger
hmm, I'll look for it. I'm wary of flavored creamers because I also don't really like sugar in coffee. it is possible to add flavor without making it too sweet for me (like I buy these canned coffees that do it), but IME it's uncommon
moontyger
(La Colombe canned coffees, if you're curious. Only one I've found I like)
moontyger
thanks for the suggestion!

Have you tried more than one brand of oat milk? The amount of that... "oatmilk flavor" varies. I like the Oatly full fat and the Chobani extra creamy
𝖝𝖆𝖓
but like, recently had an oatmilk tea drink and it was disgustingly oat-y.
𝖝𝖆𝖓
I've disliked every oatmilk-based bottled coffee I've had too..
moontyger
hmm, I can see if I can find one of those
moontyger
I'd been getting the one with the "barista blend" since it's supposedly made to put in coffee and yet...
moontyger
thanks again for the suggestions! I'll update after I try some, I guess?
