bladeosaurus
Friends, rec me podcasts. Strong preference for scripted fiction.
bladeosaurus
I'm currently listening To The College Tapes, and The Black Tapes.
Februterri
The White Vault
bladeosaurus
I've listened to: The Magnus Archives, Passenger List, Limetown, The Message/LifeAfter.
Februterri
Old Gods of Appalachia.
bladeosaurus
Also to a ton of Welcome to Night Vale.
bladeosaurus
Februterri : THANK U. Im adding these to my list
Februterri
The Silt Verses, as well!
bladeosaurus
I'm working more so I need things to listen to
Februterri
All horror podcasts, mind.
bladeosaurus
I love horror and unsolved mystery stuff
Februterri
I haven't listened to it, yet, but I've heard good things about Archive 81.
Februterri
And I couldn't get into it, personally, but I want to try again with Wolf 359.
🄳🄰🄽🄲🄴🅁
The infinite bad is a role play horror podcast, and I don’t usually like those, but they never break character (just dice rolls/you can tell it’s improv)
🄳🄰🄽🄲🄴🅁
I love wolf 359
🄳🄰🄽🄲🄴🅁
Eos 10 is fun sci fi but I don’t know if it’s still tough to get the first season.
🄳🄰🄽🄲🄴🅁
Wolf 359 starts extremely slowly but gets to have quite the drama and overall story
Meridian
King Falls Am, The six disappearances of ella mccray, uncanny county, victoriocity, congeria, alice isn't dead, poplar cove, deadly manners
🄳🄰🄽🄲🄴🅁
Girl in Space is more sci fi, about a single...girl n space though she meets up with other characters after a bit
Meridian
ooh Tanis
bladeosaurus
non-scripted (rp and improv stuff) is very hard for me bc the second people talk over each other i'm out.
🄳🄰🄽🄲🄴🅁
That’s totally fair
🄳🄰🄽🄲🄴🅁
All my other recommendations are scripted
(excited hiss)
The White Vault
Meridian
oooh return home. is going through my podcast app
🄳🄰🄽🄲🄴🅁
Jar of Rebuke and How I Died are both ongoing more recent ones I’ve picked up and am caught up on. How I Died he’s a coroner who can see and talk to ghosts
PHONY
likes this plurk for my benefit
Meridian
though it was a bit odd but interesting
(excited hiss)
It's lovely, creepy, and cold. I've also been told that after the first season, they fix up the issues with the Spain/Mexico accent.
bladeosaurus
(excited hiss) : is the actor doing the accent not Mexican or latino?
🄳🄰🄽🄲🄴🅁
Jar of Rebuke he is a lab tech or scientist or something who comes back when he dies and also he lives in a weird town and there’s a lot of mystery about his backstory (as in he remembers nothing before the accident)
(excited hiss)
Ah, no, they're Spanish and supposed to be Mexican, iirc.
bladeosaurus
Oh that's not as bad as an American doing it. For a moment there I was like
bladeosaurus
but if English is the actor's second language it'll sound close enough.
(excited hiss)
They did well getting people to speak in their first and second language throughout.
(excited hiss)
It's neat, I think. And the final season is coming up.
Februterri
The White Vault is an excellent podcast for bilingual bonus moments. They have characters speaking in multiple languages and don't always translate some of the smaller things.
bladeosaurus
I am adding all of these to the to listen list.
only goes to 11
"Wolverine: the Long Night" is spooky ambiance mystery with agents from Alaska hunting Wolverine as a murder suspect. The second season is coming out in September that is Richard Armitage as Logan with small boy searching for missing family.
bladeosaurus
omg
(excited hiss)
The second season is already out!
(excited hiss)
It's Wolverine: The Lost Trail.
only goes to 11
Is it? Thanks (excited hiss) that was the one I was hyped for but apparently not enough to remember how the passage of time works
Nishi
I am also enjoying Wolf359, so I'd give a rec there
moby d🦆ck
I'm not much of a podcast person but I've heard v good things about Mabel
nihaowdy
i liked the white vault
bladeosaurus
moby d🦆ck : I listened and enjoyed a lot of Mabel, I just stopped bc it wasn't on Spotify and I lost the link.
moby d🦆ck
ooh
moby d🦆ck
bladeosaurus
moby d🦆ck : OH THANKS I should get back and finish it
DR. MEGANE
I am liking this plurk cause this all seems really cool
Branfeather
Monstrous Agonies.
BruberryMuffin
Replurked, because everyone needs more podcasts. (Aka, I'm stealing all of these recs.)
bladeosaurus
𝕧𝕕𝕠𝕧𝕒
The Bright Sessions.
Think: X-men but they’re in therapy. But also crazy plot with weird government fuckery
DryadGurrl
seconding/thirding Bright Sessions, also adding The Left/Right Game (which is an adaptation of a NoSleep story)
𝕧𝕕𝕠𝕧𝕒
Oh and ars PARADOXICA. Modern lady scientist time travels back to the Cold War era accidentally. Secret government things. Trying to find her way home. A fun ride!
DryadGurrl
Also adding Homecoming if no one's mentioned it yet, that's the one that I learned about via the headline: "Oscar Isaac wastes his good looks by starring in a podcast"
𝕧𝕕𝕠𝕧𝕒
Scrolling through I see someone mentioned King Falls AM and I +1 to that. It’s weird shit in a weird a town as told via an AM radio talk show. I love it a lot
bladeosaurus
𝕧𝕕𝕠𝕧𝕒 : DryadGurrl : I listened to The Bright Sessions and people should know the sequels are out on Spotify. The AM Archives just finished and it's out up to ep 3 or 4 of The College Tapes.
DryadGurrl
Yessss, it's on my list
DryadGurrl
I need to finish Bright first, but I can't listen to stories while I'm working or I lose focus on the story or the work
𝕧𝕕𝕠𝕧𝕒
Yeee. My friend has been pressing face to glass wanting me to listen to the AM Archives now that it’s on Spotify and I just need the right busy work thing to do to be able to listen (LOL)
Le Tits Now
I'm a big fan of A Voice From Darkness (parapsychologist with a late night call in show about the supernatural)
Le Tits Now
And also Hello From The Hallowoods - queer interconnected stories. Horror, found family, anti capitalist. Really soothing
