Lindsay (boss 2) mentioned a project that seemed pretty similar -- we were already talking about merging them, so I brought it up in our check-in just now

it turns out her actual idea was basically my idea, but WAY BIGGER AND MORE COMPLICATED

like, I told her I'll literally need a week just to research what parts of it can be done

OTOH I also told her about how much work maintaining it would likely be and she said she's been thinking about hiring me an assistant(!) because I'm building so many tools for her that currently require at least semi-manual updates/maintenance

her: I don't want you pulling shitty reports for hours, you need time for like analysis and insights
me: and building crazy things like this, yes

they want to get you a minion!
