the plagues of things would go away.

to replace all the downstairs carpet (which came with the house and was never that great) because of the moth damage. Obviously that is impossible at the moment. Meanwhile I'm still being attacked by the moths (all critters naturally come after me).

also having to evict slugs from the house, front and back, at the rate of 1 per night - 2 last night.

fed and watered all the other things though.

there's some very heavy but sparse rain out there - possibly derived from hail which is melting in the hot air just before impact with the ground/building.

we had the heavy rain - it undid the drying that my washing had completed.

the secret with slugs is not to tread on them with bare feet.

been avoiding treading on them at all.

that's even better. It's just that they won't easily come off if you squish them in bare skin.
