I just found out that one of my mom's closest friends, who works at a school, is refusing to get vaccinated

because ~she doesn't want to inject a virus into her veins~

Oh, and she's had this stance for months, while coming over several times a month, and I was never told this so I could choose whether or not I wanted to be in close proximity to her before I could get vaccinated

And she's coming over for dinner on Sunday

idk, would I be unreasonable if I peaced out while she was in our house

you would not be unreasonable. considering she believes the vaccine injects a virus into you...I say avoid the sheer stupidity while you can.

of the three vaccines in use in the US, only one uses a deactivated virus, and it's not even a coronavirus (Johnson & Johnson). Moderna and Pfizer are both mRNA based, which uses NO viruses but rather RNA material to teach your immune system what to make to attack the coronavirus quickly and efficiently

I feel annoyed that my parents get angry at other people not getting vaccinated but when it's their friends, they shrug it off and invite them over anyway, knowing they have these stances

god I hate willful ignorance or, perhaps, straight-up lying

I work in a school and got vaccinated bc it's the fucking responsible thing to do???

It is definitely okay to absent yourself

And okay to be unhappy at your parents for knowing this and treating it like nbd
