... when it comes to Vampires and Sunlight Hypersensitivity, what actually counts as sunlight?
Goldbug
obviously, direct exposure does. what about being in the shade, or indirect sunlight during the day?
Goldbug
what about light that passes through a window, or light reflected by a mirror?
Goldbug
does moonlight, which is reflected sunlight, count? what about starlight, which are all distant suns?
Goldbug
as for magic, obviously spells & items only count if they explicitly create sunlight, like a Sunblade... but is it enough to be in the "dim light" radius of such effects, or is only the "bright light" radius sufficient?
Goldbug
I'd argue that any object designed to transmit or reflect light (clear windows, mirrors) would not afford protection, while effects that alter said light (stained glass) would shelter a vampire.
Goldbug
likewise, ambient daylight, or light reflected off of a bright surface (like a white wall) would not be dangerous to a vampire. by that argument, neither would moonlight affect them.
Goldbug
as for starlight, I'd argue that the meta definition of "sunlight" implies a given planet's sun, not ANY light from ANY solar body. By that definition, a vampire would be vulnerable to only its own planet's sun/s (so Tatooine is Double Peril for Space Vampires)
