... nearly the entire first hour is just explaining how TAZ happened and what happened in the arcs before Graduation though

and like.... as someone who consumes maybe half?? the McElroys' content but doesn't use Twitter or Reddit very much, even I noticed that Travis gets shit on a lot for no good reason

he's never been my favorite but from the start it was obvious that Graduation's problems were mostly because being a DM is hard

I do fully agree that they need to at least acknowledge the problems with the indigenous tropes during the centaur part of Grad, that they haven't said a word about it is really weird tbh

but I'm hype for their new TAZ arc and nothing mentioned here is a deal-breaker for me, it's mostly just people on the internet being super-critical like usual

that the McElroys brand of 'a family having fun' is starting to rub up against what's required of them as popular content creators is an interesting issue tho and I hope they can manage to navigate it a bit better in the future

that the Maximum Fund drive also didn't do as well this year ... I don't think it's the McElroys thing so much as timing, it happens early in the year and around this time last year a lot of ppl probably still had the money to donate only a couple of months into the pandemic

for 2021 it's been a year with a lot of places either having opened up only a month or two ago, in the US at least, so a lot of ppl probably don't feel financially steady yet

(not to mention the WHOLE thing about Bingus was wild, I never look at McElroys reddits so I had no fucking clue)
