lol until Ryslig he actually hadn't had any experience with possession but he hates being manipulated and trapped in situations where he has no control. Also, the nameless goddess he hates so much doesn't have a physical body so she uses former shadow mages souls to interact with people in the sea of stars. So it's a bit like possession.
and it's a frustrating reminder that even when he dies, she will still be using him. The impostor event was his first time being possessed and he absolutely hated it. So he will have some strong feelings about this. And he's already in bad shape because of everyone leaving so his first reaction probably won't be a good one.
lol it could be both good and bad that he waited until Altair considered him a friend. He might try to be more understanding or feel really betrayed. Both are possible. I'm excited.
I need to have Altair reconnect with Ryou. He still wants to keep RS as a friend because damnit he likes him! but he will definitely take Ryou's side in this.

none of those bother me so your fine. Altair has insomnia too. His is tied to nightmares and he used to be able to send his consciousness into a different dimension when he slept. It wasn't a pleasant experience so he hates sleeping now. Let me know if there is anything about Altair that you aren't comfortable with. He has an opt out on his journal
Altair hates it but I had so much fun creating the sea of souls and shadow magic. I wanted to do something other than just darkness so I connected shadows with souls and I love how it turned out. Sometimes I wish Altair didn't hate it so much so I could share it more but it's understandable. I was really cruel to him.
