says So it's been three weeks since I was released from the hospital.
footpad
says I feel pretty good, all things considered. I still have bruises from the experience, but that's mainly because of the blood thinners (or so I'm told).
footpad
says The scale tells me I'm down more than fifteen pounds, so my diet changes and increased exercise appear to be helping.
footpad
says My BP seems to be better, but I don't really know how to measure that. My pulse rate is a little lower.
footpad
says So...all told, I feel like I'm making progress. Of course, the real test will come in a few weeks, as I go in for follow-ups and get updated blood tests.
footpad
says In truth, I'm glad I'm not dead. So, yeah, there's that.

I'm really glad you are doing so well. Fifteen pounds is unbelievable progress. That's pretty fast for your body, so don't try to keep up that rate (if you need to lose anymore). You can get a BP cuff and/or a monitor. Might be a good idea. Congrats on the progress. I think the doc will be pleased. Maybe set a weight goal with her/her.
Godtess
Sorry about the bruises, but that's bound to happen.
Godtess
Glad you are alive.

says I have a BP monitor already; that's how I know it's down. I take it every morning, just after I weigh myself.
footpad
says I'm reasonably certain that half the weight loss is water weight. The last week has been more measured. My overall weight goal is to drop 1/3 of where I was overall.
footpad
says I'm going to try to stay the course I'm on and see where I am November 1. Hopefully, I'll have adjusted to the new portion sizes and the new range of what's available to me.
footpad
says The hardest part has been adjusting to the idea that I have to be careful moving forward. Some things that I used to love are no longer available; others aren't available yet--because we haven't yet figured out how to make them with little to no salt.
footpad
says My overall goal is to get off the statins and the blood thinners, though that may not be possible with the new hardware. I'm hoping, though, that if I get my weight and BP down, then some of the medications can go away.
Godtess
Sounds like a good plan. Even if you can’t get off them, you can probably reduce the amount with weight loss and a lower BP.
