Character Moms!

Futaba's Mom is unfortunately dead. She loves her dearly and holds her in her memories. She's where Futaba gets much of her eccentric personality from.

RT is very unclear about this for whatever reason

Either way going off that analysis she's very sweet, loved her daughter a lot.

Jaune: His Mom wasn't bad exactly from what we've heard about her. She raised 8 kids. However she didn't exactly believe in her son's capabilities to achieve his dreams of being a Huntsman. She probably thought she was being kind by saying if it didn't work out he could always come home, but it was one of the most hurtful things to say.

I kind of want to see her to get a better idea of what she's like, but RWBY is moving at breakneck speed so I don't know if we'll ever meet any more of Jaune's family. Maybe we'll get a flashback or two.

The other characters I play that I can think of either never had a Mom or we don't really see them/get context for them beyond some brief conversations that boil down to "They were a good parent"
