[RL] Now that I'm fully vaccinated I'm visiting my best friend. She lives with her sister and their family, and her nephew and brother-in-law just randomly had a conversation about toxic masculinity that warmed my heart.

Nephew is almost 10. The two of them are next door coming up with some story that used to involve jedi but now involves evil mercenary Bob Ross for some reason

and out of the blue and completely apropos of nothing they were doing before, the nephew mentions how in movies when guys always get broken up with are always mean about the fact they got dumped, and he'd never do that

and how he'd support the girl in her new endeavors, and his dad told him that if a relationship ends that it's time to self reflect and see if there's something he did wrong to be better in his next relationship

or see if it was just a clash of personalities that it just wasn't meant to be

he had also asked why guys in movies were always so mean about not being in a relationship anymore, and his dad explained that some guys had a lot of bad pride and it made them lose sight of what was important
