honestly I'm not fond of either of these arguments; the first one is very "poor people having children is the biggest problem for the environment," which... no? and the second is just willful denial of the concept of scarcity
This is a very Christian dominionist view of the environment. The environment doesn't have a purpose, but if it was created by God to provide for humanity, then it "makes sense" that it'll just keep doing so!
