I remember... I think it was on Tumblr, reading about a guy name Hugh who went to France on vacation and no one could pronounce his name cuz all those letters are generally silent in French
I'm gonna be the WELL AKSHUALLY guy XD We DO learn in 1st grade that "oi" is always pronounced "wah" and "eau" is always pronounced "o", that an "s" between two vowels is pronounced "z", and that the plural marker ("s" or more rarely "x") is always silent. So yeah. "Oiseaux" is an easy word even if it looks like someone dropped alphabet soup on the ground.
English can't really mock French for random spelling imo
