The (short) story. Someone I don't know but added because of a game basically had an anon come to their Plurk and abuse them. I don't know whether what was said about them was true or not. I don't care. No one deserves that kind of public anonymous abuse.

wankgate can be useful and serve a purpose and has actually weeded out some legitimate predators but that is of course the exception to the rule and it's mostly just a gossip hub. I'm more neutral with it than most, but I think it's important to know that most of dwrp doesn't take it at face value

The Fandom Wank of old was all about receipts and had rules about only commenting on the FW comm itself, never going to participate or harass people involved. Plus the comments never were anon. Made it a very different beast than the Wankgate rumour-mill where there’s so much petty vitriol and gossip.
