[meme] rp meta questions! good morning plurk
skarme
or according to how sleepy i still am, happy day after patch day
mad
character 3 for sagi, mun & character specific 1 and 4 for you and sagi
ραяту fιи∂єя
naren 1 and 9
skarme
something sagi would avoid at all costs: sacrificing a loved one's wellbeing for his own, pretty easy
skarme
putting himself ahead of anybody in particular is unlikely enough if it's not someone he has a grudge against already, that would be Wrong, but if it's his fambly yeah nope over his dead body
skarme
(which, coincidentally, is what happens,)
skarme
scenarios i like playing best with him: slams hands on desk make him talk about his own issues for 5 seconds i stg
skarme
he has to actually find words for them if asked because he does not think of himself as cagey and i simply live for angst threads
skarme
unwitting bringer of chaos threads born of his good intentions colliding with his terminal jrpg disease are also excellent but he's so terminally jrpg that those are somewhat easier to start tbqh
skarme
what sparked my interest in playing him: france
skarme
i mean i did not expect to like bko as much as i do, i played bk1 immediately beforehand and it was charming but not the kind of story i tend to really love without nostalgia factoring in somewhere
skarme
then i started playing bko and it was like "oh this new protag is cute" "oh no the script in this one is actually really lively" "oh no he's doing a sarcasm he's a loser"
skarme
"no didn't warn me the main character in the 2nd game is a teenage loser"
skarme
"no absolutely did not warn me that the main character in the 2nd game is a teenage loser who suffers repeated failures and is self aware enough to start having *angry resentment issues*"
skarme
so i was mostly sold on at least fucking around on memes with him even before i got to the turning point of his character arc and of course that is by far the high point of bko, after that i was a lost cause
skarme
the plot twist + heart to heart section of bko is just really cool ok, it's no small feat to have strong enough character writing that you can lock your protag in a featureless room where he just talks to himself about his feelings for 10 minutes and make that the most memorable thing in a colourful and lively 50 hour game
skarme
but yes the very initial draw was basically "oh no he's a loser that's my son archetype"
skarme
how did naren's upbringing affect her: suuuure fuckt up her ability to do an affection and/or a genuine human connection!
skarme
her parents did not make a lot of good decisions after choosing to leave othard...
skarme
in their hearts they loved her and wanted only to provide for their kids but in practice they were distant and tried to enforce as gridanian an upbringing as possible on her, meaning she didn't fit in anywhere
skarme
even in the present day if she ever has to handle kids for too long she starts picturing her strict mom looking over her shoulder and gets wound up
skarme
does she like studying/researching: on the face of it no, she has enough of a grasp of reading/writing to sign contracts and get by thanks to learning from her businesswoman mother and assorted hearers as a kid but she's not confident in it
skarme
but she does enjoy people-watching and exploring places when there's no pressure on her to do anything about it or stop doing it, it's kind of what motivated her to go try find herself Somewhere Else
skarme
she is fairly observant of small details and would make a good research assistant for someone if she wasn't already a professional gofer and murderhobo
skarme
it just wasn't the path her life took
