We got a new school president this year and he insisted on celebratory activities.

Listen, I realize that I'm a hypocrite. I went to the family lunch where nobody wore a mask for my grandfather's funeral.

look at them go! in the ambulance. to the hospital. because they all collapsed with fevers

There were zero employees at the lunch. We brought food in, held in in a private location.

This is... there's staff who have to work at this thing. And it's on university property where there are Very Clear Rules About Wearing Masks.

So I refused to attend any of these events.

And I'm glad that I did.

If a student comes up to me on Monday and says " I hear there were a bunch of faculty and staff on university property last week who didn't wear masks even though they were inside buildings and not maintaining social distancing, so why do I have to wear a mask in your class?" what am I supposed to say?

"I think you should channel that into a letter to the editor of the school newspaper." I guess.
