Brands that list fashion intended for adult women with XL being a size 14.....
tronja307020
Bitch, I will cut you and your tiny-ass dress.
tronja307020
That would make me a fucking 8 X L.
tronja307020
Oh. I just found one even better.
tronja307020
A size M according to one company is a US size 4...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"But Mel," I hear you say, " These are lolita sizes, they're meant for people with Japanese preportions, they're just smaller than people in the US." Bitch. This is fashion meant for adult women. Are people in Japan really so petite that they're all the size of preteen girls?!?!?!?!
tronja307020
average waist size for girls ages 13-18 in the US is 32.6, according to googlefu. This dress's waist size? 27.5.

Those are in inches, mind you.

........I'm worried that they missed the memo that lolita in this sense is meant to refer to a fashion genre
tronja307020
Honestly, lolita has always been notorious for running on the small side, even for people who are Japanese. Especially in the beginning, there was a big problem with fatshaming in the community. It's gotten better, now, with more companies selling a wider range of sizes, but it's still not perfect.
Exacerangutan
I mean...
Exacerangutan
there's "running on the small side" and then there's "did you design this for actual children? because that seems concerning for this specific thing"

People do tend to be smaller in Japan than they are in America but "M is a size 4" seems extremely ridiculous
tronja307020
Yeah, mte. I can understand like a size 10 being an m or something, but not a size 4.
