white asparagus? Nice.

Ooo, I have wanted to try white asparagus, but it is not available here.

My favorite fresh vegetable. It's very seasonably limited here. plenty of fields though April-May-June is asparagus season. Out of season asparagus are available in supermarkets but they are not comparable to the fresh ones. cut in the morning sold in the shops by the afternoon. No tricks no cooling, just plain white goodness.

When I worked in Venlo, I passed the farms harvesting them and I tended to stop and buy them right off the field. unsorted.
