[Disney thoughts] You know I hadn't thought about it but it really shows how badly people want Disney to do a good villain again that they latched so hard onto Tomatoa

Like when's the last time they had a villain at all, that wasn't a twist or a "not really villain"

No I haven't watched Raya yet

Not that Disney isn't well aware of this and actively trying to make older villains less fun too

they've definitely dug hard into turning villains into misunderstood "actually not evil" characters

we're in desperate need of just. a evil character

Or at least a FUN one god

It's not like you can't redeem a fun villain, or even an outright evil one

They don't all have to hit close to home like Gothel (one of the last real villains they had) and if they are present with a hidden identity from the start (like the guy in Big Hero six) they should at least have like. A personality

It's part of why I just don't revisit any recent Disney films, the ones I've bothered to see

comes back to this at least in the early 2000s they were kinda embracing stuff like Mickeys House of Villains

goddddd I want real villains again

also House of Villains was great

I was reminded of it because the shorts are burned into my memory

and yes I'd love a real villain again, someone spicy to keep me coming back
