Character names

Ky Kiske is named for Kai Hansen and Michael Kiske of Helloween, Gamma Ray (Hansen), and Unisonic (both)

I found no reliable etymology for Kiske, while Kai/Cai has several possible meanings depending on language - usually "Warrior", "Pier", "Rejoice" or as an alternative name for Kay (as in Sir Kay)

Sherlock Holmes is a fun one - originally his name was going to be Sherrinford which likely is a place name from Sheering in Essex or a compound place name, as Fords are river crossings, and Sherrin on it's own seem to be 'People' or 'Followers of'

Then Doyle met a guy while cricketing named Sherlock and decided he like the sound of the name, and also changed the original surname (Hope) to Holmes.

Sherlock is "Fair-haired" which given Sherlock's natural black hair is a bit ironic, thus the common fanon that it was his mother's maiden name - as it was a bit of a Victorian traditions.

now Hope is self-explanatory, but Holmes - depends which origin, It can be "One who lives near a holly tree", an Islet, or a Great Hall
