I don't know stage design, but it seems strange to me that someone would deliberately create a pinch like that, even on a platform intended for one speaker at a time.

One of the comments I saw was that only the Nazis put the serifs/feet on Odal. The rune itself normally doesn't have those turn-ups on the bottom.

Even if it wasn't intended by CPAC (at the organization level), I am totally on board with the idea the individual who came up with the idea knew what it was. The others either didn't knew, or didn't give a crap.

Cause if one could explain the "square" part for social distancing, having them get through a single point is not social distancing. It would make more sense to have the speaker come from opposite corners, rather than opposite points, converge to the center before fanning out again.

Someone involved in stage design said on Twitter there's no way it was not a conscious choice, given all the coordination and negotiation that goes into that kind of work.
