in general Jedao really likes Yunlan, and he respects him in a way he's respected very, very few people, but it is a way that also makes him Sometimes Wary - Yunlan can get him to Reconsider Stuff, which means Jedao might be wrong about something, which means he might end up in a mental corner of self-loathing (this is not a fully conscious trajectory)

because like. how do you know if you're in love if you're only attached to someone because you've been horribly isolated forever and they're the first person to touch you
and until Shen Wei has actual frands and an emotional support network outside of yunlan, and until he doesn't feel threatened by someone else giving Yunlan hugs and tossing his trash sometimes, Jedao is going to continute to be Concerned about it
so anyway he's not going to TRY to cause trouble for Shen Wei, he IS going to try to fix things (although he would aPReCIaTE an apology) but he's definitely going to keep his nose poked in, because also being in love with someone and havign that kind of insecurity about someone: ALSO SUCKS!!!! and being your SO's only source of emotional support: NOT IDEAL
But maybe if Shen Wei figures that out he'll wind up finding someone more in his league! Which would really suck for Zhao Yunlan, person definitely not in his league...
Jedao is, brutally, fully in the camp of "if he's going to break your heart by loving you less than you love him, you'll be better off if he dumps you than living like that the rest of your life" and of course that's not how it feels when you ARE in love iwth someone and just not SURE but
like...it's just....it's the world before, but death doesn't work, there's just this impossible luxury, none of it feels real, and he doesn't know how to talk to people who just, like, walked out of an old movie or something

Jedao is like....pleasantly surprised by how much he LIKES Larry and how often Larry matches his existing kinks, because he did originally drag him down to zero out of....not pity, but Very Empathetic Friendly Enthusiasm and a principled commitment to CUDDLING EVERYONE POSSIBLE - and sometimes that doesn't work out for him even with people who ARE
and Jedao WANTS to be Always Cuddling so he's sad when it goes that way but that's life - he kind of figured he and Larry would fool around and he'd have a lovely time and then once the pressure of immediacy was off Larry would take the Zero Idea and hook up with other people he liked better and that would be that and Jedao would remember him fondly
he still figures it's not permanent - he knows making Larry an ancillary polycule satellite over relationships Larry could be in the center of would be doing him a deep disservice long term
he really appreciates/admires the way Larry notices Little things, like the gloves, and goes for it even if he doesn't know everything - like the gloves, and also like the joke at the party
and Jedao is also really consistently drawn to people who like, mirror some aspect of himself that he can bond over and empathize with and...find kindness for that it's harder to have for himself?
that's a big piece of it -- that whole thing way back at the start where he full-on cried on him and Jedao was 100% there :< and in the moment he knew it wasn't a pity thing, even if he's sometimes told himself that the whole episode was a pity thing
hot fighter pilot??? tall???? bossy in bed??? keeps a nice garden??? understands being a depressed motherfucker and how immortality sucks a bit sometimes???
he cried, it was intense, Jedao was very sweet to him, and then genuinely seemed disappointed when Larry stopped them so like-- he came out of that encounter with some big-ass emotions and has been a bit of a duckling ever since
and Jedao does want to shake him A Bit when he gets very down on himself but pestering si one of his primary love languages right after touch so that's fine
Jedao also has....a lot of issues about being Pushy with people in a million other and overlapping arenas but also having a ton of painful consent history
Jedao will try again and try Different things but a hard no is always going to get him to back off, and he's going to be a little gun shy ramping back up
someday he and Quentin will get along very well. They're getting better! they just can't always make eye contact. (Or what passes for eye contact with Larry.)
first it was "hey remember how we didn't meet until the day after you found out I made out with your fiance" and now it's "hey remember how we were in a committed and loving relationship in another life"
Fives can be brash but he's also just incredibly forthright - so overall if someone doesn't get on with Quentin Jedao is more like "oh no what happened there" and if someone doesn't get along with Fives Jedao is like "well did you not notice he's amazing/not treat him like a person or"
he's so far always been "steve's chill friand and/or husband who has some deep stuff in common with me but doesn't want to talk about it" but with B it's a lot closer to the surface
Dogma is very proud of he thinks he made a friend, but also perpetually nervous that B will eventually notice that he is a shitty uptight friend and not like him anymore
he still has lingering John Feelings he's never once talked about since then but it did help him move into trying something new without actively drowning in guilt
