Lukewarm takes upon finishing season 3 of Discovery!

I definitely liked it better than the previous two

And I know there are assholes online who diss on it for all the wrong reasons.

But I happen to like the characters. I think the diversity and representation are the best things about the show.

So far, though, I just don't care about anyone and I can't quite figure out why, except I'm just not a fan of the writing. Now, most Trek isn't a masterpiece of writing, let's be honest.

I think I just feel there's way too much telling than showing (about feelings, etc) and I am tired of being told what's significant? IDK. I'm also tired of everyone whispering urgently.

Like, I liked a LOT of the concepts introduced this season, I thought the Starfleet stuff was handled well, etc.

But I'm still feeling that absence of personal investment. I guess we'll see.

and i was so relieved about how they handled starfleet towards the end

Yeah they finally have a non shitty admiral which is about time

I just want to care more than I do?

but I still think it's over-written or something.
