Concept/Setting idea in my head recently: Lawyer for the supernatural. If something like that exists already, I would love to watch it.

So there are boundaries that each supernatural kind of being isn't supposed to cross, and if they do, they are more likely to get dragged off for judgement, punishment and so forth. Save for extenuating circumstances, which is what the Lawyer finds and argues on the being's behalf

And doing so is something that builds them up some good karma, which can far outweigh anything that's been done by them, if it ends up being their time for judgement. (Which does have an eventual natural time for each being)

Ghosts are a good example for what sets boundaries. They're remaining behind for a reason, which is allowed, but they're only meant to do things within that reason. They just can't be seen. Staying behind for family? Sure, pull up covers, fetch medicine to put by bed, pull frozen food into fridge so something could be cooked

Grudge against someone? Sure, go and torment and release that anger. How far they can go depends on the surface reason, but it can include moving things around, scratching, invading dreams etc. If it puts the person being haunted in danger, or others, there better be a good underlying reason.

Not that there's only ghosts in the world. There's demons (like, contract-making kind,) youkai, fairies, oni, gods, vampires, werewolves, merfolk, and so much more that could be there.

Humans thrown into there are psychics, witches, clairvoyants, as well.

I was actually thinking of a similar concept except it was two people who do the legal documents serving in person. Chasing down a werewolf over a dense to serve him a child support notice
