like ngl, the Straight Path to Valinor is said to go through where the stars dwell but - in their cosmology the stars are also in the upper atmosphere instead of millions of millions of miles away

so yeah, literally, in Tolkien's writings if you're trying to get to a star you'd be on a wooden sailing ship

Yeah, Dragon Age elves are sort of deliberate opposites to Tolkien style elves

I love playing DA elves against Tolkien elves for that reason. I was once in a LOTR based game and it was fun to have this scrappy little mortal mage elf of mine becoming bros with all the flowery and flawless hairdos around him
