The only way I can calm my mind and quiet my body to sleep at night. I have to meditate to clear my creative mind of thoughts and avoid jumping on that runaway train.

Meditation helped me calm down when I had asthma attacks

If you do it often enough you can create muscle memory. I seem to stress out in the doctor's office and skew my BP readings. I did an experiment one time, after the nurse took may readings, I asked her to try again after a minute or so of calming myself down. She was amazed at how I was able to bring things down to normal so quickly.

I now do this before every appointment now. I sit in the room and meditate while waiting. I will be doing this on Thursday when I go see my GI.
