[horror] spoilers for Goodnight Mommy and The Lodge

so I learned after watching THe Lodge that these movies have the same directors

both directed by Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala

and that changes my reading of the Lodge

Goodnight Mommy is a movie about a woman who comes back from surgery and is creepy, The Lodge is about a pair of kids getting trapped in supernatural circumstances with their stepmother

the twist in Goodnight Mommy is that one of the kids is dead and the other is hallucinating him and he's just been torturing his mom for the whole movie but she's totally normal, then he kills his mom

the twist in The Lodge is that the kids are gaslighting the stepmom into thinking she's in purgatory and it drives her insane and she kills them
