Also I took a nap, and I had a dream where I was telling someone about how a lunar space lander had been stolen. cos I knew somebody that knew a girl that had been tangentially involved with the heist.
potato boyo
And these lunar missions were apparently fairly normal, at least there had been a number of them.
potato boyo
whoever I was telling about it had never heard of it and I was wondering if the government had kept it out of the news, but didn't believe they could have completely hushed it up.
potato boyo
I also realized it was one of those things I'd heard about but never really looked into that much so there was a lot I didn't know, which lead me to start googling it.
potato boyo
I was reading wikipedia pages in my dream.
potato boyo
they had used some social engineering to get somebody's daughter to break security, using a spear phishing scheme, tricking her into thinking she was being contacted by members of a band she loved
potato boyo
the person I was telling the story to then got the impression that the band was involved in the theft and I said no, but then I wasn't sure they weren't...
potato boyo
in any case they got it out of the facility then flew it to an undisclosed location, then flew it to the lunar launch facility in Alaska. the details were fuzzy after that.
potato boyo
Like, how did they convince mission control to launch them just because they were in control of the vehicle? what did they do when they arrived? did they all make it back? I don't know!!
potato boyo
in my searching I found articles about the facility it was stolen from. which kept feeling like a shopping mall in my dream.
potato boyo
Found this local news article talking about two of the military personnel that worked there resigning in protest. Something about how they felt let down by the agency responsible for security/etc.
potato boyo
This lead me explain to my audience of one that NASA was essentially a military run organization. That the civilization side was just front facing; as soon as anything was launching, the military was running the show.
potato boyo
(before I went to sleep I was reading about SpaceX and the impending SN9 launch, and telling a friend how starship progress compares to SLS)
potato boyo
These dreams are very realistic
potato boyo
I remember the frustration of going through a whole wikipedia article and not finding what I was looking for because it was technically considered a different topic.
heylisa
That's intense.

I think you should forgo your yearly $3 donation to Wikipedia, hit them where it hurts
potato boyo
Mochimochi another reference point

I broke down and gave them $25. you can all skip cos of me.
potato boyo
I just gave the Guardian their begging scraps, too.
Bisquius
You're a good'un
potato boyo
as annoying as the begging is, I do use them a lot and would be sad if they weren't there.
potato boyo
and I do appreciate the Guardian model compared to something like NYT that says "here's your four articles, you can have more for as low as hundreds of dollars a year! what a bargain!"
Bisquius
They have a cracking crossword too
potato boyo
what a bargain!!
Dakota 🐦⬛🪵
that dream is so linear compared to mine.
potato boyo
I think a lot of it is me trying to translate from dream brain to normal awake brain.

maybe it means you have booked a short trip up
SpaceX announces first “free flyer” human spacefligh...

I think I got a discount.

Just make sure it's a retour ticket. The one-way tickets are cheaper put hitch-hiking back might be problematic
