I don't think saying 'largest aquifer in the US' conveys really what they're jeopardizing - https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/44/Ogallala_saturated_thickness_1997-sattk97-v2.svg/800px-Ogallala_saturated_thickness_1997-sattk97-v2.svg.png

82% of the people in that region get there water from there. Today about 27% of the irrigated land in the entire United States lies over the aquifer, which yields about 30% of the ground water used for irrigation in the United States. (Wikipedia)

For anyone who hasn't lived in or been in these regions, they might not realize it's also where we grow most of our livestock feed, and raise most of our livestock. The outrageous increase of cost of water if such incidents occur in this region will absolutely trickle down to any soy products, corn products, meat products, etc.

are they actually building that pipeline?
Anke
I believe as of last year, yes. As of Biden, not sure. I just don't even know why it's being considered.
Anke
It looks like parts of it are complete, more than I thought or knew honestly.

With the world (including the US again) on track for electricity they probably won't get their investment back out before it becomes obsolete.

Biden cancelled the pipeline with an exec order which was how Trump approved it. You need legislation to keep it from easily being brought back.
