Alright. Let's begin.
pixie lovemail
I'm setting down a few base rules for myself regarding liveblogging.
pixie lovemail
Umineko: When They Cry is a fucking monumental game from what I understand.
pixie lovemail
If I take the time to record every possible reaction I have to it, it'll take me probably forever?
pixie lovemail
So here's what I'm going to do.
pixie lovemail
Instead of liveblogging everything, I'm going to plurk a summary of my thoughts on each scene as it transitions into the next one.
pixie lovemail
I'll only break this rule in two cases:
pixie lovemail
1. If I find an important clue that I think I'll need to remember.
pixie lovemail
2. If I need to solve something and documenting my thought process will help.
Quinneapolis
Do you have any spoilers going into this?
pixie lovemail
With all that said, let's get started.
pixie lovemail
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
pixie lovemail
The only thing I really know is that Hannah's favorite character is a shitlord named Erika who treats Knox's Decalogue like the Ten Commandments.
Quinneapolis
excellent
pixie lovemail
Normally I'm really bad with spoilers but I've managed to restrain myself and mute any Umineko plurks that I've found.
Quinneapolis
the game will give you regular concrete Break Points in the form of either the screen shattering or a clock appearing
pixie lovemail
I've also seen a few completely out of context screencaps/art just from existing on the internet but I don't remember most of them anyways.
pixie lovemail
Thanks for the tip. How... often will those break points come, out of curiosity?
Rama
it's my favorite part of Umineko
Quinneapolis
probably several per session? you'll get a feel for it as you go
Rama
Watching someone else react to it
pixie lovemail
Saying for full disclosure: The only maybe spoiler thing I remember is, uh, pipe smoking lady (Beatrice?) cupping protagonist (Battler? Beato?)'s cheeks against a dark background. I'm 90% certain that it was ship art and the only reason I remember it is that the imagery was weirdly striking and it's stuck in my mind whenever someone mentions Umineko.
Quinneapolis
it is a popular ship
pixie lovemail
Okay, without any further ado, let's go.
pixie lovemail
OH! Also, I remember you saying that anything in red text is absolute truth and can be trusted. Again, seems important, so I'll record any red text here.
Quinneapolis
The convention I used in my LP, which also tends to get used on plurk, where you can't color text
Quinneapolis
is bold = red

HERE WE FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOO
𝗕𝘂𝗻𝗻𝘆 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲
Umineko is a Lot, content wise, so please don't be afraid to take breaks when/if you need them

NO I HATE ERIKA shes just very fascinating
but also the worst
pixie lovemail
i think you hate erika the same way cassie hates mordred and jalter
Quinneapolis
Umineko has one of my all time most hated villains EVER, but like
Quinneapolis
she's great as a villain
Quinneapolis
I hate her as a person
