fossilization generally requires being burried in some kind of water-rich sediment so minerals can slowly replace the bone's material

I think the condition of the bones might depend on how much moon dust they got covered with, I feel like millions of years of sunlight undiffused by atmosphere would probably be a bit harsh on any organic matter even long after all decay had ceased
