I just watched an old movie that was described to me as "the best Noir movie ever"

It was, in fact, not the best

it was a solid movie of the genre, but the last 3 minutes literally made me say "boo"

I'm guessing the last 3 minutes were tacked on because some executive in the 1940's thought the ending was too much of a bummer

so why did they say it was the best, again?

did they mean, best like....it's so terrible its good or?

Hm, I don't think the noir part of my film class went into that one

Ziri✖O : I mean, it’s a solid movie beside the tacked on three minutes. I looked it up and apparently the moral guardians of the 1940’s wouldn’t allow that ending, so they were forced to add the second ending

“Best” is definitely overselling it though, even not counting the ending
