: Yes. He lied about things that could be easily checked, and about things that gave gim no benefit at all. I think that the lies are loyalty tests, in a way - the people who go along with him will be used, the people who do not become enemies.

He wants to see who he can enlist as accomplices. And pretty much the whole Republican Party passed that test (not in a good way) repeatedly over his time in office. They need to be held accountable for that. Cruz and Hawley are only the latest high-profile examples.

I don't envy anybody he chose as accomplices, he throws away folks that he no longer has a use for. What he doesn't realise is, that if you treat folks like that too often, the same happens to you.
